Storage ‘made in Germany’
Nowadays no company can afford to leave its storage management to chance. With data volumes growing at an astronomical rate, organisations need to deploy high-performance storage technologies, yet not lose sight of the costs. SER develops customised storage strategies based on the latest storage systems.
SER has been implementing all-in-one systems for audit-proof long-term archiving for over 20 years now. SER offers its customers modern storage hardware that it has developed itself and which is ideally compatible with the archiving software of the DOXiS iECM Suite. Whereas in the past the focus was on audit-proof long-term archiving, today the focus has shifted towards high-availability systems which can hold as much as several terabytes of data and documents at the ready.
Over the past twenty years, SER Storage Technology GmbH has also been developing, producing and distributing a wide range of jukeboxes and libraries. Today the company has considerably more than 1,000 installations in the German-speaking world alone. A large number of installations are also in operation in other European countries, in Africa and in Asia.
The reason behind the new requirements in terms of high availability and security is that today the lifecycle of a company’s information frequently determines its storage strategy and choice of storage systems. Whereas in the past the main consideration was to comply with legal provisions, today the focus is increasingly on availability of data and documents within the relevant business processes. SER takes account of these new requirements with a range of different storage technologies.
SER customers receive ‘storage made in Germany’. The systems are developed and produced exclusively at the Neustadt/Wied site. At the same time, SER has a service network that covers the whole of the German-speaking world, which makes it possible to achieve extremely high standards of maintenance and service with extremely short response times. Today, the systems from SER Storage Technology GmbH are used in classic archiving, video and voice recording and for recording image data – particularly in the area of medical technology.
